About me

I have been building towers, splashing in puddles and marvelling at spiders in their webs for 14 years

What do I do?

I am able to provide a flexible service around your needs. Whether you require a one off day of support, ad hoc on going support, temporary or long term part time support - I will be able to assist you.

I cover many areas of Essex, including Brentwood, Billericay, Chelmsford, Southend, Basildon and Orsett as well as East London, including Upminster, Greenwich, Tower Bridge, Stratford, Canary Wharf and Walthamstow.

With 13 years experience, I have experienced many different situations from children speaking a different language, introducing bottles, weaning, creating and adjusting schedules, to experience with twins, CMPA and other allergies.

I have worked with children from newborn through to teenagers, supporting first time parents and parents with the different milestones their children are reaching.

What makes me different?

A mother myself, I understand the range of emotions experienced, pressure and expectations parents put on themselves and how the sleepless nights can blur the days into each other and effect your parenting. Not only do I view my role as a nanny to care for children, I am here to support you as a parents too and provide you with the tools to parent how you would like to parent.

In addition, my toddler joins in with the days adventures of reading books, exploring garden wildlife and dancing. His presence helps supports children's social and emotional development, and encourages children to try new things by coping him. He also provides a welcomed distraction to children who struggle with being cared for by someone new.

I naturally follow Montessori and child led approaches to supporting children to explore the world around them and to become confident, independent and engaged in their learning through play.

A typical day

There is no such thing as a typical day when it comes to being a nanny.

However, I will follow your routine for any naps and meal times, as well as any other classes or adventures you have planned.

The rest of the day is for exploring and learning about the world around your child, engaging them and extending their interests and knowledge.

Where it is possible and requested, I will also cook fresh and nutritious meals which can be frozen for a busy day, do the children's laundry and change their bedding.

Qualifications

I qualified as a nanny in my home country of New Zealand prior to moving to the UK. I undertook further studies including a foundation course in Play Therapy and a diploma in Rehabilitation. I continue to keep myself updated with the latest research and recommendations to ensure that I am always improving my childcare provision and providing families with the most up to date recommendations.

I maintain my Paediatric First Aid and am Ofsted registered, DBS checked and insured.

"My little girl who wasn't a great sharer to begin with instantly took to Larissa's little boy and loved playing with him! If you are looking for someone kind, considerate and amazing with children then Larissa is honestly the perfect candidate." Sam
